Whenever you get a window that has the options "OK" or "Cancel," pressing ENTER is the same as clicking "OK," and pressing "ESC" is the same as pressing "CANCEL."
You can rename CD tracks the same way you rename multimedia files. Just highlight the tracks to rename and choose the "R"ename option from the "F"ile menu.
You can move the toolbar by clicking on an empty area of the toolbar and dragging it off of the main window.
Get the currently playing song and song position on the toolbar by clicking on the exclamation point '!' button on the toolbar. Click it again to get your buttons back.
If you drag the toolbar away from the main window and minimize Midi Machine, the toolbar will still appear!
Right mouse-click on the multimedia queue or the file list for instant access to menu options.
Highlight items in the multimedia queue and click on one of the hands next to the queue to move those items up or down in the queue.
If you don't like to confirm every time you remove items from the multimedia queue, click on the "Setup" button and select the "Confirmations" tab for a way to change that.
Drag files from File Manager (Win3.x) or Explorer (Win95) onto Midi Machine and those items will be added to the multimedia queue!
Highlighting multimedia items and pressing the "Del" key removes them from the queue.
Although .JPG images load slower than .PNG images, they take up a LOT less space normally.
Usually items added to the queue are placed below the present items. If the "Add to Tip" checkbox is selected, though, items will be added above other current items.
Be sure to experiment with the playmodes. Shuffle play is especially fun as it plays the queue items in a random order but it will not play an items twice until all other items have played.
Although tht main Midi Machine window doesn't maximize, you can maximize windows holding pictures viewed by Midi Machine.
If you don't like to see the song length and position on the main window, click the "Setup" button and select the "Display" tab for an option to hide this display.
If you click on the tabs underneath the multimedia queue, you can show or hide the full paths to the multimedia files.
If .MID files do not sound good on your computer, you might want to consider upgrading your soundcard to one with wavetable capability.
If you are set up to save the default album but not to re-load it on startup, you can find it as "default.alb" in your Midi Machine directory.
If you hold your mouse cursor on a toolbar button and leave it there for a couple of seconds, you'll see what that button does.
If you run Midi Machine with a command line of "/b", "/r", "/s", or "/c", you can force the playmode to be backwards, random, shuffle, or continuous, respectively.
Highlighting items in the file listbox and pressing ENTER adds them to the queue.
If you think the toolbar is too "slippery," click the "Setup" button and select the "Display" tab for an option to force the toolbar to dock (stay in one place).
